Online trading provider CMC Markets has signed as a key sponsor of Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL) cricket club Sydney Sixers for the 2020-21 season. The sponsorship will see CMC Markets engage with fans of the Sixers, last year’s BBL champions.

According to Jodie Hawkins, general manager of the Sixers, the sponsorship will help power the club’s new data driven social media content. “We are really excited to work with CMC Markets to bring some of the BBL’s most engaging data to the devices of our fans,” she said.

Cat Gallagher, head of commercial – Asia Pacific at CMC Markets, said the Sixers’ focus on leadership, inclusion, and engagement made them an excellent fit for the brand. The club has won two BBL titles and two WBBL titles in its 10-year history.

“Synonymous with the Australian summer, cricket is a tradition adored by fans across the country. As one of the most successful teams in the BBL, the club’s strong focus on inclusivity and leadership resonated strongly with us as a partner,” said Gallagher.

CMC Markets is the second-largest retail stockbroker in Australia, and the new deal will build on its support of other sporting teams in the country, including Australian Football League (SFL) club St Kilda and Super Rugby’s NSW Waratahs.
