The Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) has claimed that they have managed delivering record total value to its commercial partners during the 2020 season. According to the figures collated by YouGovt Sport for CPL, value and visibility to sponsors increase by 58% in CPL 2020 compared to the 2019 season.

The total value according to the e-val agency was US$371million for the league.

These figures were collated by YouGov Sport, a division of one of the biggest research firms in the world. The 2020 tournament was played behind closed doors at two venues in Trinidad as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. While fans were unable to attend the league there was a record viewership of 523.5million. With so many people watching the tournament around the world the commercial partners involved with the Hero CPL got excellent exposure throughout the event.

The partners for the 2020 season were Hero Motorcorp, Digicel, El Dorado Rum, Republic Bank, Dream XI, Fun88, Bet Daily, Angostura LLB, Republic Bank, FedEx, Visa, Guardian Group, Carib, LifeBuoy, Turbo Energy Drink and Rainforest Seafood.

We are grateful to our partner family for standing with us during a challenging year and hope to have repaid that loyalty by delivering high value.”

First started in 2013, the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is a franchise-based T20 format cricket tournament. The league claims that there was a combined broadcast and digital viewership of over 500 million during the 2020 season to make it one of the fastest growing leagues in world cricket.
