Online betting and gaming company Betway has become title sponsor of Cricket South Africa’s Twenty20 competition, the T20 Challenge.

The 10-day competition launched on February 19 and will be called the Betway T20 Challenge.

Last year, the round-robin and final-formatted competition replaced South Africa’s top white ball cricket league, the franchise-based Mzansi Super League, which was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Paul Adkins, Betway’s marketing and operations director said the sponsorship “enforces our strong commitment to cricket in South Africa”.

Betway already plays a major sponsorship role in South African cricket as title sponsor of all Proteas Tests and One Day International series on domestic soil.

Separately, in international cricket, food delivery service Evaly, has been named as the main shirt sponsor of the Bangladesh team for the forthcoming New Zealand tour starting March 20. The contract is worth BDT20m ($240,000), according to Nizamuddin Chowdhury, chief executive of the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
