USA Cricket has advertised 2 new coaching positions as part of its high-performance team. The roles are that of Men’s Youth Coach and Women’s Youth Coach.

The Women’s Youth Coach will have primary responsibility for identifying and nurturing junior and youth women’s cricketers in the USA with a particular focus on developing a junior squad of players to compete for places in a USA Cricket Women’s U19 Team that has the potential to qualify for and perform well at the ICC Women’s Under 19 Cricket World Cup in 2023. Currently the role would include responsibility for coaching at least one USA junior squad at an age-group yet to be determined but likely to be U16/U17.

The Men’s Youth Coach will have primary responsibility for coaching the USA Cricket Men’s Under 19 Team and, as USA Cricket evolves, the responsibility will likely expand to include other representative boy’s age group squads and teams. A key objective is to successfully qualify from the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup Regional Qualifiers in 2021 and perform well at the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup in early 2022 and it is envisaged that this will therefore involve coaching a squad of currently U17 players as part of those plans.

In both cases:

The role will have a specific focus on identifying and nurturing homegrown talent and the successful applicant will work closely with the National Coach and the Cricket Operations Director in developing appropriate pathways and programs for those youth players so that they can transition successfully into the Senior National Team in due course.

It is anticipated that each role will also have a secondary responsibility for providing assistant and other coaching support for, and working closely with, the relevant Men’s and Women’s Senior National Teams and their players. The precise scope of this aspect of the role, which will help to ensure continuity across the programming, will depend upon a number of factors, including the experience and fit of the successful applicant and the future playing schedule of all teams across the full High-Performance Program, and will be discussed with the short-listed applicants and the relevant National Coaches as the process unfolds.

Both jobs are advertised with immediate effect and are open for applications from today Monday 8th June and have a closing date for applications of Monday 22nd June.

Full details of both jobs are also available on the Vacancies section of the website Usacricket.org
