JSW Sports has signed an exclusive talent management contract with Rishabh Pant. Pant was instrumental in India’s win in the 4th Test in Brisbane as they beat Australia to retain the Border-Gavaskar trophy on Tuesday.

Pant will be the first cricketer managed by JSW Sports, the sports arm of the JSW Group, a $12 billion conglomerate with a presence across India, USA, South America, Europe & Africa. Established in 2012, the company aims to play a leading role in creating a sporting culture in India by maximising the potential of Indian sports and athletes.

The development was confirmed by company’s director Parth Jindal to Economic Times “Over the years we’ve been able to build up the credibility of the established sports company in the marketplace and wanted to embark in cricket too,” Jindal said.

“I’ve been talking to Rishabh for quite some time now… I truly believe that he is the next big thing in the Indian cricket, and because he is already part of our family, I think Rishabh also felt very comfortable that we will be able to represent his interests in the best possible way, and create and make him a very significant brand in the whole sporting landscape in India.” confirmed Jindal.

The multi-year association between the two parties will see JSW Sports manage the athlete’s image positioning and all his commercial engagements, including brand endorsements and appearances, social media monetisation and business deals.

Pant plays for Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), the franchise jointly owned by JSW Group and GMR Group. The runners up in IPL 2020 DC will be retaining Pant for IPL 2021, scheduled to take place in April. Pant is also the brand ambassador of JSW Steel.
