The International Cricket Council (ICC) has begun recruiting a media-rights manager after the shock resignation of Aarti Dabas late last year.

The role, reporting to the ICC’s chief commercial officer Anurag Dahiya and, in addition to the management of all media rights contracts, will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring contractual compliance
  • Relationship management,
  • Delivery of rights and obligations,
  • Staging of meetings and workshops,
  • Planning, approvals and reporting.

The position is based at the global cricket governing body’s headquarters in Dubai and requires a minimum of five to six years of “relevant experience in media rights and/or broadcast”.

The ICC has invited interested parties to apply for the role by May 6.

Dabas resigned as ICC head of media rights, broadcast and digital in October, following a corporate restructure of the organisation.

The highly-regarded Dabas had been with the ICC for over 12 years. She had led the ICC’s media-rights team since August 2014.

The ICC appointed Dahiya to the role of chief commercial officer at the start of the year and ahead of the departure of Campbell Jamieson, general manager, commercial. Dahiya joined from his role as head of content and media sales at telecoms giant Singtel, and before that spent 14 years at Fox International Channels, previously ESPN Star Sports, as senior vice-president strategy and business development.
